Work Day 1

Hola-This is Monday's posting (even though it's early Tuesday morning). We enjoyed a romantic candle lit dinner tonight because of a power outage which is frequent here. After dinner we had a study/devotional time by a blazing fire. We were talking about the beginning of Jesus' ministry and how He invites us into a relationship with us. Isn't that fascinating that the creator of the universe invites us in relationship. Today was our first full day of work including belt sanding the brick floors and some painting. Below are high/lows from the team.

Aaron: High: Cruising around in the mountainering Hyundai with Steve through San Jose.
Low: Mising the girls.

Mike: High: Being done sanding lacquer off the brick floors.
Low: Stomach pains.

Jeremy: High: Worshiping on sunday and study time at night.
Low: Running the belt sander and missing my wife and kids.

Phil: Working in God's beauty, with the rainbow in front of me and the birds signing behind me. Seeing God's work in the local churches. Fellowship with the other men.
Low: Missing the family.

Rich: High: Having Aaron's suitcase delivered.
Low: When I took out some dry-rot and left a big hole.
Check out the flickr site.

Hey guys, sound like things are going great. I can just taste that brick dust now. Sounds like you're all missing the same thing - your families. I'm sure the romantic candle-lit dinner didn't help...
We miss you, and are praying for you daily.

Love the pictures and the blogging. Thanks for all the work you are doing in Costa Rica and we hope the rest of the days go well. Have fun tomorrow on your "free" day - no wrestling the snakes. We will be praying for your safety.

Hola Mi Amigos,

I have been praying that God touches and uses all of you in a special way.

Thanks for the blog and pictures, (what's up with all the flowers, haven't any of you guys ever seen a flower? Just kidding) Those pictures are an amazing display of some of God's amazing creations.

Say hi to Steve & Jamie , Mark & Karen, Woody & Sue. I am really missing not being on the team this year. Tell Steve I would love to come down and pour some more concrete whenever they need help.

I look forward to hearing more of the great things happening at the Training Center.

Thank you 5 Amigos for your dedication and faithfulness to God.

God Bless,

Steve Chaffin
P.S. ( Mike, have you seen ElPato's Costa Rican gray squirrel this year?)

It is absolutely beautiful there. You are so lucky to experience this life adventure. I'm in a cubicle on the 9th floor of a downtown Sacramento, California office. Nothing like you!!!
