Free day and work day 4

Hola-Yesterday was our first day of exploration of Costa Rica's beautiful landscape and wildlife. We headed out of the San Jose valley surrounded by mountains like a bowl, over the mountains down to the coastal area. Driving through the mountains is an experience in itself. We did it with a Tico (Costa Rican nickname) behind the wheel. You haven't experienced driving until you've rode with a Tico. We have learned to no longer take life for granted. We launched onto a river cruise as our first stop and saw some amazing wildlife. We came across a sloth, cayman, and some howler monkeys. We also came across tons of iguanas in the trees hanging over the river.
Our next stop was a trip through a rainforest and a cocoa plantation tour and some of the history of cocoa in Costa Rica. The rainforest lived up to its name...it poured and we got soaked. But loved it all the same. To walk into the rainforest we cross an 800 ft. suspended bridge, over a couple rivers. Toucans were flying in the trees (Fruit Loop jokes were kept at a minimum). The chocolate was fantastic. We tried real chocolate bars, drink, and melted syrupy deliciousness. We all had a great free day off enjoying God's beautiful creation here. The work has been stress free but it was really fun to get out and see the country we are working in and some of the rural areas and people.
Today we were back at work and can't believe that we have one more day and then head home on Sunday morning. The trip has been fantastic and we've loved getting to know people down here. We will post a another blog tomorrow with more details. God Bless.
Buenas noches from the 5 amigos...don't forget to leave a comment (we love them by the way) and don't forget to check out the new pics on flickr.

Froot Loop jokes?? Would have loved to hear some of those . . . maybe not. The photos are beautiful, who is the amazing photographer - how artistic! I hope the zoom lens was on for the shot of the croc.
We are happy to see/hear that all of you are doing well and had a great day to see more of Costa Rica. The center looks like it is shaping up. Nice work.
Praying for your safe return!
I've enjoyed the updates and pics, too, and am looking forward to hearing about it all in person. Have a great last day and God's blessings on your travel!

Awesome pics, looks like a fantastic trip yesterday. It also looks like you really accomplished a lot of work on the buildings. Looking forward to hearing the details. Safe journey to all of you tomorrow!
Love,
Edie
i CANNOT believe today is your last day - it's gone by so fast!!! enjoy your last day of work!
you might have to bury or burn your work clothes when you get home as i'm not sure a standard washing machine will be able to withstand the strain of getting them clean....haha.
see you at lunch! :o)
Looks like an amazing time, doesn't look like a river you want to go swimming in. Amara is very proud of her Uncle Jeremy for working on spreading God's word to Costa Rica. Have a safe trip home and we will see you soon.
